Science Speaks @ AUP: The Work Ongoing

Location

Location: Paris, France

The Speaker Series

Science Speaks @ AUP is a live environmental speaker series produced by Pine Forest Media in collaboration with the American University of Paris. The series brings interdisciplinary research into public conversation through carefully curated talks, discussion, and high-quality media production.

The recorded talks from Science Speaks @ AUP will be released as a video series on Earth Day 2026, extending the conversations beyond the event and into public circulation.

The Work Ongoing

The 2026 theme, Ongoing, reflects the reality that environmental work is not defined by single breakthroughs or moments of crisis. It unfolds over time — through research, teaching, interpretation, stewardship, and sustained attention.

Science Speaks is structured to hold space for that ongoing work: for uncertainty, responsibility, and the long view.

Interdisciplinary conversations

The program brings together scientists, scholars, artists, and practitioners working across disciplines. Topics explored across the series include:

  • Climate science, education, and misinformation
  • Climate justice and interdisciplinary approaches to social movements
  • Environmental history, colonialism, and law
  • Marine biodiversity, fieldwork, and international collaboration
  • Media, storytelling, and crisis reporting
  • Food systems and the science–policy interface
  • Conservation, stewardship, and long-term care
  • Creative and poetic approaches to environmental meaning-making

An evolving series

Science Speaks is an ongoing initiative that adapts each year to new questions, voices, and contexts. As environmental challenges continue to unfold, the series remains focused on process rather than conclusion — on the work ongoing
